
Supporters of reinstated Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara have converged at the VIP Lounge of the Port Harcourt International Airport, anticipating his formal return to office following the end of the six-month emergency rule.
Crowds trooped to there early Friday morning, drumming and singing in expectation of Fubara’s arrival.
The Rivers Governor is expected to resume at the government house today.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathers that Governor Fubara, who returned to the country on Thursday after vacationing in Europe, is currently in Abuja and scheduled to fly into Rivers State later today.
His absence on Thursday had stirred confusion among loyalists after hundreds had turned out to welcome him, only to disperse by midday when he neither appeared nor made a public statement.
The uncertainty was addressed by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who disclosed during a televised interview that the governor left Europe on Thursday morning. Wike, who confirmed he had spoken with Fubara, assured that peace had returned to the state after President Bola Tinubu lifted the emergency rule.




The gentleman governor is preparing for the speech and the vision for his people.
