BREAKING: Fubara’s Gov’t Summons Wike’s Men, Makes Demands over LG Secretariats Attacks

The Rivers State Judicial Commission of Inquiry has summoned 109 individuals, including top allies of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to testify about the recent attacks on local government secretariats.

Those summoned include Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, Obarilomate Ollor, and Hope Ikiriko, who served as local government chairmen under Wike’s administration and completed their tenure under Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Also summoned is Hon. Aforji Igwe, a member of the State House of Assembly loyal to Wike.

The commission, led by Hon. Justice I. R. Minakiri, aims to investigate the arson, killings, and destruction of properties at local government council headquarters.

Recall that Governor Fubara, who is having a running battle with his predecessor, Wike, vowed to investigate the attacks which occurred on October 7, 2024.

Witnesses are scheduled to appear before the commission on specific dates. Witnesses from Ikwerre will appear on October 30, while those from Eleme will testify on November 1, 4, and 5. Witnesses from Khan LGA will appear on November 6, followed by Emuoha LGA on November 7, and Ohio/Akpor and Ahoada East on November 8. Any remaining witnesses will be accommodated on November 11.

The commission requires summoned individuals to appear at the Rivers State High Court Complex in Port Harcourt at 9:00 AM with any evidence to support their testimony.

“To give evidence and or tender document(s) in respect of the inquiry. Therefore, do not fail, as it may be at your peril.

“You are required to bring with you any evidence to establish your case,” the statement by Hon. Justice I. R. Minakiri, added.
