BREAKING: Gbajabiamila, NSA, Ministers Meet in Aso Over Food Security

Top officials in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, are currently in an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa.

The meeting, convened under the banner of the Presidential Committee on Emergency Food Intervention, comes amidst growing concerns about food insecurity and recent protests in Niger State.

Sources within the presidency, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that the meeting, chaired by Gbajabiamila, is addressing the ongoing food crisis and its potential impact on national security. This comes after residents of Niger State took to the streets on Monday, expressing their outrage over “unbearable economic hardship,” particularly rising food prices.

It’s worth noting that President Tinubu declared a State of Emergency on food insecurity last year in response to the nationwide surge in food costs. Minister of Solid Minerals Dele Alake, speaking on behalf of the President at the time, assured citizens that the government was aware of the issue.
