BREAKING: Ghana Concedes Two Late Goals as AFCON Dream Fades

Ghana has all but crashed out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the group stage after conceding two stoppage-time goals.

Despite initially leading 2-0 with penalties from Jordan Ayew, Mozambique’s late goals likely sent Ghana home for the second consecutive tournament, after minnows Comoros dumped them out two years ago.

With only two points in this year’s competition, Ghana faced a disappointing outcome. They will have to wait for the conclusion of the group stage and hope subsequent third-placed teams do not better their points and goals tally as they fancy a chance of scaling through to the next round as one of the three best losers.

In the other match in group B, Cape Verde and Egypt played a 2-2 draw, with both teams qualifying. Cape Verde secured the top spot in the group with 7 points.
