BREAKING: Gov Lawal approves civilian JTF to tackle bandits in Zamfara

The Zamfara government under Governor Dauda Lawal has approved a civilian Joint Task Force to combat banditry in the state.
In a tweet on Tuesday, September 5, Governor Lawal disclosed that the state government took the decision during its Executive Council meeting on Monday, September 4, held in Gusau, the state capital.
The governor noted that the JTF will assist other security agencies in the state to tackle all forms of violent crimes.
His tweet read:
“After our long and extensive deliberation at the Executive Council Meeting yesterday in Gusau, My administration has approved the recruitment of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) to complement the ongoing efforts of our security agencies in tackling banditry in Zamfara State.”
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had expressed concern over the worsening insecurity in the state, especially incessant killings and kidnappings of innocent people by bandits under Lawal’s government.
The state publicity secretary of the party, Yusuf Gusau, said the APC was deeply concerned over the lackadaisical way and manner the Dada Laval-led administration is handling security issues in the state.
Gusua claimed that the killing of innocent citizens has become too rampant with terrorist attacks occurring on a daily basis.
