Governor Bello inaugurates new Kogi Chief Judge

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has approved the inauguration of Justice Henry Olusuyi as the Chief Judge of the state.

The swearing-in ceremony which was held on Wednesday in Lokoja, the state capital, is coming five days after Governor Bello approved his appointment in an acting capacity.

The governor appointed Justice Olusuyi when the position became vacant following the death of Justice Nasir Ajanah who died due to COVID-19 on June 29.

Meanwhile, Governor Bello during his address approved the appointment of Bayo Olowosegun as the acting President of the state’s Customary Court of Appeal.

Mr Olowosegun’s appointment also followed the demise of the former judge, Shaibu Atadoga, who died on June 22.

Among those who attended the ceremony are the state Deputy Governor, Edward Onaja; Speaker of the House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole and other top government functionaries.
