Some unknown gunmen on Friday unleashed terror in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, targeting a man who had just completed a bank transaction.
Eyewitnesses say the victim, whose identity was yet to be confirmed, was trailed by the assailants from a commercial bank where he had gone to withdraw some money.
It was gathered that the armed robbers followed the man to Phase II, Lokogoma area, near a market in Lokoja.
“There, they intercepted his car, forcibly removed him, and shot him dead. The attackers made off with a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money that the victim had withdrawn from the bank,” a source said.
The Kogi State Police Command was yet to officially release a statement on the incident as at the time of writing this report.
