BREAKING: Heavy security as Abia court set to deliver judgement on Nnamdi Kanu’s fundamental rights suit

Heavily armed security personnel have cordoned off the roads leading to the premises of the Abia State High Court complex in Umuahia as the court is set to deliver judgement today, Wednesday, on the suit by Nnamdi Kanu for the enforcement of his Fundamental Rights filed against the federal government of Nigeria.

Detained Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) filed the suit through his Special Counsel Aloy Ejimakor on August 27, 2021.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that as early as 7:00am, a detachment of law enforcement officers had been deployed around the court premises.

All the roads leading to the court have also been barricaded, forcing motorists and pedestrians to take alternate routes.

Journalists and staff of the court as well as people accessing the premises were asked to produce their identity cards before allowing access to the premises.
