BREAKING: Hoodlums attack residents, Loot shops in Lagos

A band of hoodlums wreaked havoc in Alimosho and Ifako-Ijaiye areas of Lagos on Saturday afternoon as they robbed residents and looted shops.

POLITICS NIGERIA reliably gathered that the criminals invaded shops in Jankara market, Ifako Ijaiye and attacked residents in Merian and Agbado areas, robbing them of their hard-earned valuables.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the Lagos Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana revealed that police officers have been deployed to the disturbed areas. He explained that some of the areas are under the jurisdiction of the Ogun State Police command adding that an operation to capture the bandits in underway.

“A lot of arrests have been made and I will give more updates as soon as I get further reports. We are working with the Ogun State Police Command on that and operations is ongoing.”

“Some of the affected areas fall under Ogun and Lagos but we are working with the Ogun Division already because crime has no boundary.”

Some Nigerians on social media have reacted to the development adding that it was a result of the Lockdown on the state. It will be recalled that the President issued a 2-week lockdown in Lagos and Buja in order to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
