A member of the Taraba state house of assembly has been kidnapped.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that unknown gunmen on Tuesday, kidnapped the lawmaker representing Nguroje constituency, Bashir Bape Mohammed from his residence in Jalingo.
Eyewitness reports reveal that the gunmen overpowered vigilante guards around the house and went straight for Bape’s room. The forcefully dragged him out of the building and took him away in a convoy of motorcycles.
The bandits seized all mobile phone of residents in the home and shot in the air to rattle them.
This is the second time in recent years that a house member is being kidnapped in Taraba. In 2017, Hosea Ibi of Takum constituency was kidnapped and later killed.
