The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajuddeen Abbas, has lost his elder brother, Alhaji Aminu Pate.
A statement by Malam Abdullahi Kwarbai, Media and Publicity Officer of the Zazzau Emirate Council, said the late Pate died on Wednesday night after a protracted illness at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria.
The deceased, who until his death held the traditional title of Wamban Dawakin Zazzau, was a retired civil servant. He had risen to the rank of Director of Personnel Management and served in various local government councils across Kaduna State.
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
According to the statement, funeral prayers will be held at the Emir of Zazzau’s Palace in Zaria at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
