Sani Abdullahi Dabai, Brg. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga (Bardan Kudun Katsina), Shehu Dabai, Nasiru Bawale, Barr. Aliyu Ahmed Danja with thousands of their supporters in Katsina State have decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the decampees promised to support the PDP governorship candidate in Katsina State for the 2023 election, Senator Garba Yakubu Lado.
Speaking at the event on Sunday, Katsina State PDP Party Chairman; Salisu Yusuf Majigiri (Garkuwan Gabas Katsina) charged the decampees to work for the unity of the party and its success in 2023.
Senator Lado, the Special guest of the occasion, received the decampees and assured them of equal opportunities.
This development is not good news for the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, who hails from Katsina State and is a member of the APC. Although Buhari is term limited, his party still needs to have a united house in order to gain votes in the North for its presidential flagbearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
