The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Shehu Gabam has denied reports that he has been suspended from the Party over alleged financial fraud.
Gabam, in a live address to Journalists on Tuesday afternoon, called on the General Public to ignore the report adding that the crisis has been quelled and everything is now ‘under control’.
In his words; “I’m here to address you that the news you saw on social media that i have been suspended is fake.”
“The system we are running is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that no party exists. We are supposed to have NWC meeting this afternoon by 2 pm. Surprisingly, around 10- 11 am that thugs were brought into SDP Secretariat to cause crisis, but i’m happy that everything has been restored, decency has been restored.”
“The thugs were carrying placards in connivance with some members of the NWC that are being funded to ferment this crisis. I want to assure you that we are up and doing.”
“SDP is not a violent party, its a law abiding party.”
“I want to use this special opportunity to call on the President and commander-in-chief, that we choose as a nation to practice democracy. The President should not allow any security agencies to be used, any agent of the government to be used to destabilize democracy.”
“This is just to let you know that those who plotted and issued the press release that i saw are agents of destabilisation. They are also agents of some of the Coalition Partners who believe that they must Bulldoze SDP, who believe that they must create chaos in SDP, who believe that without forcefully taking or creating chaos in SDP, they may not have their way.”
“No individual is above board.”, he said.
