The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched an investigation into allegations of job racketeering involving some Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the ICPC spokesperson, Azuka Ogugua, said in a statement on Friday that the investigation was launched following petitions received from Premium Times and Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Ad-Hoc Committee on the Investigation of Job Racketeering and Gross Mismanagement in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
According to Azuka, “ICPC has commenced investigation into petitions received from Premium Times and Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Ad-Hoc Committee on the Investigation of Job Racketeering and Gross Mismanagement in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), over bribery allegations against the probe panel.”
The petitions allege that some officials in the MDAs have been demanding bribes from job seekers in exchange for employment.
