Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has taken the oath of office for a second term as governor.
The event, held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in the state capital, saw Uzodimma raise his hand to the Bible at precisely 3:23 pm, officially embarking on his second four-year mandate.
Prior to the Governor’s oath, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru was sworn in as Imo’s new Deputy Governor.
Among the personalities at the venue is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is a fellow party stalwart and close ally of Uzodimma. Others are ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo; the Senate President Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker of the House of Representative Tajudeen Abbas, and other All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains.
