Mmesoma Ejikeme, the candidate accused of forging her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, has expressed her discontent with the three-year ban imposed on her by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), stating that it is “not fair.”
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the 19-year-old claims that her “results notification” slip, obtained from the JAMB results portal, had a score of 362 out of 400. However, JAMB says that she is presenting a counterfeit result using a template that was discontinued in 2021.
JAMB reiterated on Tuesday that her result is “blatantly fake” and announced the withdrawal of her result, subsequently barring her from taking the examination for the next three years. The official score provided by the board is 249.
Appearing on Wednesday’s edition of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily alongside her father, Romanus, Mmesoma argued that she should not be held responsible for the controversy.
“It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that, and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair,” she voiced her grievance.
Earlier, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin revealed that their records indicated the candidate had sent multiple messages to the board’s automated telecoms system, including results showing an aggregate of 362.
In response, Mmesoma clarified that she only sent a text message through JAMB’s support system, stating, “That’s the only SMS I sent there.”
When asked if she received any response, she said, “They didn’t reply. If they check their JAMB Support System, they would see that I sent a text message. They didn’t reply.”
Regarding the claim that she used an Airtel line, Mmesoma confirmed it but clarified that it was not done through a USSD code.
“The one I checked through the USSD code is the one of 360 (sic) that I saw,” she clarified.
When asked if she received any feedback showing her score as 249, she responded, “Yes. After all is said and done, I now saw that I got 249. I sent them a text message there to know what really happened – the JAMB Support System. If they go to their system, they will see it there.”

Those that aided her needed to be revealed and prosecuted.
Two of my children and another two of close relations sat for the last JAMB, the result slip for 2023 is far different from what she is displaying.
She is a disgrace to her state and age group.
I am most disappointed.
Importantly, whoever her associate in the whole crime must be revealed, be it within Jamb or a private cyber cafe.
I believe someone must have collected money from her/her parents to get her high score scholarship
JAMB, You want to unleash your mistakes to the little girl, admit that you make a mistake possibly by sending a wrong pin to her.
Again, why are we even killing ourselves for scammed Education system in Nigeria? Nigeria Education system is a scam.
Thousands of Graduands are there roaming about over decades without a job why those that drop out of school and venture into business are feeding well. What can we call it?

I don’t think such malpractice can be done with the jamb board. Proper investigation should be made and decisions made with compassion because no one knows tomorrow. How do you expect someone to stay at home for good three years while her mates are in school. What kind of impression is jamb making, you mean having 400 jamb score is a crime.
