Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan has finally reacted to rumours of plotting to contest for president again in 2023.
Jonathan has trended on social media in recent weeks following rumours that he was lobbying to contest for the country’s leadership as he is still eligible to run for a single 4-year term.
Speaking with reporters on Friday after attending an event setup by the Commonwealth Community Choir in Abuja, Jonathan revealed that “It is too early to talk about that.”
He also spoke the current spate of insecurity in the nation and admonished Nigerians to support the Buhari administration and security agencies in tackling the menace.
He added that Nigeria was not the only country in the world plagued by Insecurity. it will be recalled that Jonathan lost his re-election bid in 2015 to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All progressives Congress, APC.
A wise man indeed. May your days be long.
I really thinks that a return of president Jonathan to power is not a bad idea at all.
I just like him without reasons.
Maybe Jonathan should rule for life?
Jonathan had tried his best, let’s try another person that will touch the live of Southerners even in Vice capacity, a grassroot Politician,Someone like Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Thats the African problem. For no reason, you’ll handover your destiny and that of the generation to come to someone? Even a goat or dog won’t do that.
What are u saying ?
So who is d dogs and goat u are refairing
to here .? Listen Johnathan I’ll be a good option for now than any of those name am hearing .Except u people are not tied of the hadship yet ok
I feels is better he continue from where buhari stopped, to me is just a litmus test.
GEJ, do not be deceived to contest 2023 presidential election by APC or PDP, the same people planned for defeat in that election are very much around. Respect your self and remain an elder Statesman and World Peace Ambassador.
GEJ should not think of coming back. This country is beyond repair. Thanks to the people that brought PMB. GEJ should not spoil his name, Just rest sir.
Dr. Good luck should buried his ideal if at all he have interest. More than 85% are not interesting in such an expired nation called Nigeria. There should be referadum before 2023 if anyone can live till then with these kind of barbaric killing everyday by day. If he nurse abittion, he he may……..
Indeed he is the dream of the people
Wow that will be a very good idea. I Moses Ephraim Simon will be happy if he rule our country.
So is too early for u to talk about that ?means u can still join ur enemy ?oga Jo with do respect don’t think of joining those people that are calling u .
With all due respect sir. Enough of your preaching action we demand for that is the only language they understand and you aren’t excluded.
Oga Joe is good but he has made impact, let another person still try.
Chinedu, you are suffering from a condition called Stockholm syndrome. It is a type of disease that makes a slave love his master for maltreating him
That is the problem of Nigeria, illiterate electorates like you who go to the polling booth to elect vagabonds
With what we have seen and experienced so far, let GEJ please take over and restore the country economy back, this time, he will have the political will to deem the nation. The North in particular and the nation in general should apologize and beg him to rule us again.
Maybe Jonathan should rule for life?
Jonathan is right and wise.
Presidential race for him in particular is not something one should just rise up hop into.
He would have held to power by all means in 2015 if he had wanted to be like other African presidents, but he felt, as I believe, to give peace a chance as he had been threatened by his successor for the same lack of peace if he were to remain on seat.
The waters of insecurity and lack of peace that were turned on for his stepping down reason are yet to be still. He doesn’t need to be in a hurry to join the race when Boko Haram, bandits, herdsmen, etc are yet to leave the stage.
I rest my case.
Is he the only one in that region?
Johnathan has change the economic impression of massis about Nigeria. If given chance I believe he will set Nigeria on a step to greener pastures.I have confidence in him.
True talk. Imagine the “for no reason” clause
Returning to finish the unfinished in the office
