JUST IN: Omo-Agege speaks on ‘working’ against Tinubu

The Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has responded to allegations made by Cairo Ojuogbo that he worked against the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ojuogbo, who previously held the position of Director of Projects at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), had claimed that Omo-Agege engaged in anti-party activities by working against Tinubu in Delta State.

However, Omo-Agege, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has dismissed Ojuogbo’s allegations.

In a statement released on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sunny Areh, Omo-Agege referred to Ojuogbo as an impetuous irritant and stated that he did not merit a response to his claims.

“Cairo Ojuogbo is an impetuous irritant, a sinking man who does not deserve a response from the Senate’s Deputy President,” he stated.

This newspaper reports that the conflict between Omo-Agege and Ojuogbo dates back to the March 18 Governorship election in Delta State, which saw the APC lose out.

Ojuogbo has also been accused of working for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, during the 2023 election.
