The Presidential Panel setup to investigate Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Monday threw out legal representatives of the ex-anti-corruption chief.
It was gathered that Justice Salami, who heads the panel, ordered security agents to walk out Aliyu Lemu and Zainab Abiola, Magu’s lawyers, out of the presidential villa venue.
Trouble began after Wahab Shittu, Magu’s head legal representative stood up to introduce Lemu and Abiola as members of his team. Shittu has been the only one representing Magu in prior sittings.
Shortly after Shittu introduced them, Salami interrupted him, insisting that only Shittu would be allowed to defend Magu. Security Operatives quickly escorted both lawyers out of the Presidential villa.
