Italy’s National Anti-Doping tribunal has suspended Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba, for alleged doping.
The Pogba’s suspension was confirmed on Monday, September 11, by the tribunal statement.
Pogba was under investigation after being tested for testosterone following his club’s 3-0 win over Udinese.
It was gathered that the test, performed after Juve’s victory at Udinese on August 20, detected high levels of testosterone, a hormone that increases athletes’ endurance.
Nado Italia, the anti-doping agency, said that Pogba was suspended provisionally with immediate effect.
Sky Sports reports that pending a trial and testing of a backup “B” sample, he risks a suspension of up to four years.
The French international was sidelined from playing many matches in the 2022/2023 season after sustaining a hamstring injury in training.
