Kaduna Electric has announced increase of its tariff for customers on band A feeders from N206.80/kwh to N209.5/kwh.
The announcement was contained in a notice to customers on Wednesday, July 3 by the head, Corporate Communications, Abdulazeez Abdullahi.
“The management of Kaduna Electric informs the public of an upward review in the tariff of Band A feeders from N206.80/kwh to N209.5kwh,” the energy firm said.
According to the notice, the upward review which took effect from Monday July 1, 2024.
The new tariff change affects customers on prepaid and postpaid customers.
The Kaduna Electric Public Notice, noted that despite the hike, the tariffs for band B, C, D, and E, remained unchanged.
Recall that on Tuesday, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu restated the cheapness of the band A tariff in comparison to self energy generation in the country.
He said Band A consumes 40 percent of the energy in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
The upward review by Kaduna Electric is an indication that the other 10 electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) will announce their hike in the coming days.
The company assured its affected customers of a minimum of 20 hours to 24 hours power supply.
