Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina, has sanctioned the allocation of N977,023,000 to cover the 2023 National Examination Council (NECO) fees for 48,385 candidates in the state.
This recent approval follows Governor Radda’s prior allocation of N364,842,000 towards settling the West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees for approximately 20,269 state indigenes who sat for the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations.
Governor Radda’s commitment to education reform in Katsina State was previously underscored by the recruitment of over 7,326 new teachers for primary and secondary schools in the region.
The governor had said his administration aims to depoliticize the educational system, prioritizing enhancing academic standards through strategic initiatives.’
Residents say the substantial financial allocation toward examination fees demonstrates the state government’s dedication to supporting students’ educational pursuits, ensuring broader access to critical examinations without financial constraints.
