The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday mourned the death of the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Bayo Sikiru Osinowo.
The lawmakers condoled with the family of the deceased during Monday’s sitting after the news of the Senator’s death broke.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator popularly known as Pepper died on Monday morning after a brief illness at the First Cardiologist Hospital in Lagos.
A source close to the family said: “The Senator has been suffering high blood pressure for years. It’s really not a secret, those close to him know this”.
Reacting to the rumours that Osinowo died of Coronavirus complications, he said it might not be true.
“I don’t think so because Senator Osinowo has been very careful since the COVID-19 outbreak. He avoided meeting people”, he said.
The deceased aged 64, who was elected into the National Assembly in 2019, was a four-time member of the Lagos House of Assembly.
