BREAKING: Lagos Assembly Recalls Four Suspended Lawmakers

The Lagos State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension of four members of the state parliament, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

According to Speaker of the House, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, two of the lawmakers, Hon. Moshood Oshun representing Lagos Mainland II and Hon. Adewale Raheem representing Ibeju Lekki II, have recalled to the chamber.

Obasa made this known at the start of plenary activities on the floor of the House on Thursday.

He added that Olumuyiwa Jimoh and Rotimi Abiru, who were the former Deputy Majority Leader and the Chief Whip, who were also suspended have been recalled.

The lawmakers were suspended during plenary on March 9 and the affected members and their staff had since then been denied access to the Assembly complex with their offices sealed up.

However, the speaker did not disclose if the removed principal officers were reinstated to their former positions or if they are to continue as floor members.

The speaker said the suspension of the lawmakers was lifted after the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, called a meeting earlier in the week to wade in the crisis.

According to Obasa, it was agreed at the meeting that the House should reinstate the suspended lawmakers and solve the crisis bedeviling the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
