The Lagos state government has confirmed the death of a Coronavirus patient, a 66-year-old citizen of the United Kingdom.
State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, confirmed the sad news in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Abayomi said the deceased is a 66-year-old Briton, who travelled from India via Dubai to Lagos on the 17th of March, 2020.
The commissioner added that cases of coronavirus in the state had increased to 130 and the number of deaths in the state has jumped to three.
He wrote: “Lagos recorded another #COVID-19 related death: a 66-year-old Briton, who travelled from India via Dubai to Lagos on 17th of March, 2020.
“As of 7th of April, 2020, there are 10 new cases of #COVID-19 confirmed. The total of #COVID-19 cases in Lagos rises to 130.
“Another #COVID-19 patient was discharged after full recovery. This brings the number of discharged patients to 32.”

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced ten new cases of COVID-19 in Lagos.
In a tweet via its Twitter handle on Tuesday, the center said COVID-19 cases in Lagos has risen from 120 to 130, with the addition of the new cases.
