Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, took their oaths of office for their second terms in a ceremony held at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the state’s chief judge, Kazeem Alogba, administered the oaths on Monday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, dressed in a white Agbada and a purple cap, officially took the oaths at 11:44 a.m., marking the beginning of his second term in office.
Recall that Sanwo-Olu secured 762,134 votes in the governorship election held on March 18 to emerge victorious over his main challengers. Olajide ‘Jandor’ Adediran of the PDP received 62,449 votes, while Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the LP garnered 312,329 votes.
The event was graced by the presence of the council of traditional chiefs, members of the State House of Assembly, and other distinguished guests.
