The Shoprite Mall in Lekki, Lagos has been shut down as several Nigerians stormed the mall on Tuesday afternoon to protest over Xenophobic attacks in South-Africa.
On Monday evening, Nigerian Media was awash with footage of attacks on Nigerians and their businesses in Johannesburg by South-Africans in a recent spate of Xenophobic attacks.
In retaliation, residents stormed the mall on Tuesday, to destroy items and possibly burn down the mall. SHoprite is a South-African owned business. The mall has since been shut down till further notice.
According to eye-witness reports, 4 Police Trucks with officers are presently stationed at the Mall to forestall more violence.
