Manchester United Football Club has sacked Dutch coach Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag’s tenure ended with a 2-1 loss to West Ham United on Sunday.
The club expressed gratitude for Ten Hag’s contributions and wished him well in the future.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has appointed former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim head coach.
According to the club’s statement, “Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.”
