Many have been killed following coordinated attacks on commercial banks in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Wednesday, December 13.
Eyewitnesses say the robbers, who were armed to the teeth, arrived the banks shooting sporadically into the air.
While the number of the those killed could not be ascertained as at the time of writing this report, Politics Nigeria can confirm that some of customers were injured during the attack.
It was gathered that social and business activities in the town were paralysed for several hours as human and vehicular movements stopped while the robbery was going on.
The residents said the robbers used dynamite to blow open the entrance of the banks and cart away unspecified amounts of money running into millions of naira.

This time of no cash in Nigeria commercial bank. Where did they got those millions of money they stole from the bank.
But why should government allow this nonsense to be happening every year.Useless government!!!
It’s fault we nigerians,becouse our leaders are using us as their weapons to be fighting agains tribes,religions and what so ever,so we’ve to wake up ooh and think again.
This period of xmas goverment should provide more security to all banks , investigation should be carried out , most of those working in the bank are not saint on this matter
