Prominent Businessman, Galadima Modu-Sheriff is dead. POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the Deceased Galadima is a father to Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno State. He died on Wednesday night.
It was learnt that Galadim died in a fire incident that consumed his house in Damboa, Maiduguri. His son governed the state between 2003 to 2011. The late Galadima’s other sons include Mamman Nur, Mala Sheriff and Mai Sheriff.
Condolences have since been pouring in from dignitaries. The Deputy Speaker of Borno state assembly, Hon Engr Abdullahi Musa Askira expressed profound grief over the death Modu Sheriff.
In a reaction to the sad news, Askira said, “I am deeply touched by the demise of your Father who was a very dedicated Statesman that not only shared your best aspirations but also committed himself to promoting them.”
“May his soul rest in peace. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds. May Allah comfort you and other members of the family at this difficult moment of grief,” he added.
