The federal government has shut down all its borders to human traffic.
The announcement was made on Monday evening following agitations from Nigerians, who demanded that Nigeria should close its borders in order to curb the spread of the pandemic.
As at Monday morning, Nigeria recorded a total of 36 cases of COVID-19, including one death and two recoveries.
Meanwhile, the latest development was announced by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, while addressing a news conference on Monday.
According to the SGF, the new measure is in addition to the closure of the country’s air space from international travels.
