The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has approved the redeployment of senior officers within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The NAF said the move is aimed at injecting fresh perspectives and streamlining operations, particularly in addressing current security challenges facing the nation.
The major shake-up involves crucial positions, including Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Directors, and Commanders, as part of the Nigerian Air Force’s ongoing efforts to ensure efficiency and flexibility in its operations.
Among the senior officers affected by the redeployment is Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Olasunkanmi Abidoye, who has moved from the Defence Headquarters to NAF Headquarters, where he will now serve as the Chief of Standards and Evaluation.
AVM Adeniyi Amesinlola, previously the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre commandant, has been appointed as Chief of Transformation and Innovation at NAF Headquarters.
Additionally, AVM Abubakar Adamu has taken up the position of Group Managing Director of NAFIL Group, while AVM Iboro Etukudo will serve as the Chief of Policy and Plans.
AVM Francis Edosa has been appointed the Chief of Training and Operations, and AVM Dalhat Ladan will serve as the Chief of Air Intelligence.
Further changes include AVM Suleiman Usman, now the Chief of Communication and Information Systems, AVM Sayo Olatunde as the Chief of Defence Policy and Plans at the Defence Headquarters, and AVM Lanre Oluwatoyin as the Chief of Defence Space Administration.
The reassignment also saw AVM Ibikunle Daramola, previously the Chief of Communication and Information Systems, now taking on the Chief of Civil-Military Relations.
AVM Abiola Amodu, the former Director General of the Air Force Research and Development Institute, has been appointed Chief of Aircraft Engineering. Meanwhile, AVM Patrick Phillips has taken over as the Chief of Logistics.
On the tactical front, AVM Elijah Ebiowe has been appointed as the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command in Makurdi, and AVM Sunday Aneke will oversee Mobility Command in Yenagoa.
AVM Abubakar Abdullahi has been named the AOC of the Air Training Command in Kaduna, while AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun assumes command of the AOC Logistics Command in Ikeja.
Congratulating the new appointees, Air Marshal Abubakar reiterated that the reshuffle is in line with NAF’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate of defending Nigeria’s airspace and contributing to national security.
