BREAKING: Nigerian Army rescues 4 kidnapped students in Zamfara state

The Nigerian Army, working in coordination with the Nigerian police in Zamfara state, has successfully liberated four kidnapped students of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) from the clutches of terrorists.

The students had been abducted from their off-campus residence in Sabon Gida, located in the Damba area of Gusau LGA, Zamfara state, early Saturday, October 14, 2023.

The operation unfolded as a response to a desperate distress call from the kidnapped student.

Swiftly mobilizing, troops from Operation HADARIN DAJI formed a blocking position along a potential withdrawal route employed by the terrorists, initiating a fierce gun battle that ensued.

”This led to a heavy exchange of gunfire with the terrorists. The superior firepower and tactics of the troops forced the terrorists to abandon their victims and flee.

”During the encounter with the terrorists around 12 am, two of the students managed to escape on their own, while the remaining two students, a male and a female, were safely rescued by the troops.

”The operation was a success, and the students were rescued from their captors,” a statement by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the Force Information Officer for Operation HADARIN DAJI noted.
