BREAKING: Nigerian Government seizes 40 properties belonging to Ekweremadu

The Nigerian Government has secured an interim Forfeiture of 40 properties belonging to embattled senator, Ike Ekweremadu.

An Abuja Federal High Court on Friday has issued the order of interim forfeiture of 10 properties in Enugu, 3 in the United States of America (USA), 9 in Dubai, Two in the United Kingdom (UK), one in Lagos, and 15 located in Abuja.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Justice Inyang Ekwo, the trial Judge, gave the order following an ex-parte motion filed and moved by Ibrahim Buba on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Judge also ordered EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order of the properties in a national daily within seven days from the date the order was given.

Ekweremadu is currently in detention in the United Kingdom over allegations of Human Trafficking and Organ Harvesting.

  1. I know Nigerians, instead of blaming the looter or at least ask questions on how he ammased 40 properties siezed, they will start to read stupid political meaning. And we can’t blame people too because Nigerian government is not trustworthy. Even when you think they are doing the normal thing at least from the surface, there is serious political vendetta underneath. Theqquestion is why is the EFCC coming out now? There are bigger lotters but uf they can wear APC garb, they are secure

    1. This case has been on for a long time. He was dodging prosecutio. One other of his co looters will be next. That one is a well known master Dodger. Any body who stole must be dealt with whether politics is behind it or not. Nigeria is the only place the victim of robbery is sympathetic to the robber. These property belong to every Nigerian. We should account for them or lose them

    1. You are not concerned about how he got those said properties, all you could say is to pity for the man that is down already, if i may ask is it Nigeria that arrested him?. If your mindset does not change i pity your future.

    1. There is nothing wrong in him having properties in several locations. The only problem is that they looted our national treasury to amase such wealth.

  5. What are the fleet of properties for? In a country some people are sleeping at the under bridge, One individual has 40 buildings scattered across the world? With which money did he acquire those things from? God is the judge.

    My question is what is one man doing with 40 houses scattered all over the world?

    1. Until Nigeria runs a welfare economy,where the state cares for the citizens with the enormous resources Nigeria has,looting will continue.The senators know the right things to do,to turn things around but have become rubber stamp and ineffective.

  22. EFCC and ICPC are deceitful organizations that go against only perceived enemies of government. In the past seven and a half years of Buhari’s tenor, we have not heard any serious action of any of the corruption watch dogs. And you will recall that Buhari’s administration is the most corrupt in the history of Nigeria. Is Ekweremandu the only corrupt Nigerian? Certainly not. What happens to other Nigerian leaders? And why the hunt now, at this eleventh hour
