Nigeria’s economy grew by 2.54% in the third quarter of 2023, driven by a positive performance in the services sector.
This was contained in a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.
The data revealed a significant improvement from the 2.25% growth recorded in the same period last year.
The services sector, comprising industries such as finance, telecommunications, and hospitality, spearheaded the economic growth, surging by an impressive 3.99%. This sector’s contribution to overall GDP stood at 52.70%.
The agriculture sector grew by 1.30% compared to the 1.34% growth witnessed in the third quarter of 2022.
