The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced plans for a nationwide strike set to commence next Wednesday.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the decision was made during a meeting of the NLC’s National Executive Council (NEC) held in Abuja on Friday.
The NEC, which consists of Presidents, General Secretaries, Treasurers of all affiliate unions under the NLC, State Chairpersons and Secretaries of the NLC State Councils, the Chairperson of the NLC Youth Committee, and members of the National Administrative Council (NAC), deliberated on the fuel subsidy removal and the resulting fuel shortages plaguing the country.
The fuel scarcity was triggered by President Bola Tinubu’s inaugural speech, wherein he boldly declared the end of fuel subsidy.
