The leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared a two-day nationwide protest for February 27 and 28, 2024.
Joe Ajaero made the announcement at Labour House, Abuja, during an ongoing press conference.
The protest was declared to press the demands on the current hardship being faced by Nigerians since the removal of fuel subsidy on May 29, 2023.
Ajaero also accused the President Bola Tinubu-led government of failing to respond to the needs of citizens.
“It is regrettable that we are compelled to resort to such measures, but the persistent neglect of the welfare of citizens and Nigerian workers and the massive hardship leave us with no choice,” Ajaero said.
Details shortly…
It’s a good development to have declared two(2) days mass protest. But in the long run, we want to see state and local government equally enjoying whatever is given to federal civil servants.
Hence, the many states have not started enjoying the wage award FG promises.
Furthermore, the president (His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu) said in his last meeting with the 36 state governors and FCT minister Nyason Wike that all governors should go back and pay their salary arears, pension and gratuities because he has been giving them enough FAAC allocation.
Hopefully, we want to hear and see governors doing so in the coming days.
Thanks.
Please let the leaders should no how to convinced the president on going hunger and removal of fuel subside
