The Ogun state government website (www.ogunstate.gov.ng) has been hacked.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the hackers who claimed to be Aliester Crowley and went by “Anon Ghost” said they were based in the Maldives.
The hack was discovered on Wednesday morning.
Under what looks to be the hackers’ emblem, a strong statement that reads, “We are Anon Ghost,” is put up on the website.
“We are legend, we do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us.
“Hacked by Aliester Crowley. Update your security! Greetings from the Maldives.
“Find me on YouTube,” the hackers added.
All of the website’s pages were likewise defaced by the cyberattackers.
The Ogun state government has experienced hack attacks in the past. Similar to the most recent attack, cyberterrorists seized the website in 2015 and demanded that the state government upgrade its security.
The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) websites are among others that have been attacked by hackers.
At this time, it is unknown if the state government was informed of the hack.
