The Ondo state house of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against the state deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi over his defection to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The premises of the assembly is currently under heavy guard as the lawmakers are currently deliberating in the Assembly on the allegation of gross misconduct against Ajayi.
It will be recalled that Ajayi approached a court on Monday seeking to block moves to impeach him. POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the Assembly needs a two-thirds majority (18 out of 26) to succeed.
