Information reaching POLITICS NIGERIA reveals that the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, is set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) next week.
This is coming weeks after Ajayi dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the PDP to contest for the governorship seat. But he lost to Eyetitayo Jegede, who emerged the party’s flagbearer.
However, it was learned that Ajayi has concluded plans to join ZLP and become the flagbearer of the party in the coming election in the state. His name would replace that of the governorship candidate of ZLP, Rotimi Benjamin.
According to reports, Ajayi had met with the national leader of ZLP and former governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, and other party stalwarts in Abuja to perfect the plan. Also, an aide to Ajayi said that his principal has finally settled for the ZLP. He said that the deputy governor is presently in Abuja to consult with leaders of ZLP and would publicly announce to the public his next political plan.
According to Ajayi’s aide, Allen Sowore, his principal was still consulting and would declare his next political destination soon.
