Hon Agboola Ajayi, the embattled deputy governor of Ondo State, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Zenith Labour Party.
He made this known in a statement through his Media Adviser, Allen Sowore, in Akure, the state capital. Ajayi said he had sent his resignation letter on the 9th of August, 2020 to the chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward ii of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festus Oboro.
Ajayi said he resigned his membership of the PDP because Ondo people called him to provide credible and purposeful leadership to the state and bring the dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
The embattled deputy governor thanked the PDP National Leadership and members for their warm reception and acceptance in the short period he rejoined the party.
He, however, asked his teeming supporters to remain focused and committed as he will defect to the Zenith Labour Party to contest for the governorship election tomorrow.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that Ajayi rejoined the PDP on June 21 2020, at his home town, Kiribo. He later contested in the governorship primary but lost to Eyitayo Jegede.
