Ondo state has recorded the second positive case of Coronavirus, POLITICS NIGERIA can authoritatively confirm.
This paper learned that the second case of COVID-19 was discovered at Ijoka area of Akure today.
Confirming this to our reporter, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Segun Ajiboye, said the patient had been transferred to the state Infectious Disease Hospital, along Igbatoro road, Akure.
“The young man shuffles between Ondo and Lagos. His family is here in Ondo.
“He has been transferred to isolation center,” he said.
Mr Ajiboye also noted that the two relatives of the man have been isolated.
Also confirming the news, Wahab Adegbenro, Commissioner for Health, said the patient lives at the Ijoka area of Akure, the state capital.
However, an official announcement is yet to be made by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
As at the time of filing this report, Nigeria has recorded 288 cases of the pandemic across fourteen states.
