BREAKING: “Ortom Not Arrested by EFCC” — Former Benue Governor Breaks Silence

Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has clarified the purpose behind his visit to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today, stating that it was in response to the commission’s invitation.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this clarification comes in light of widespread speculation suggesting that Ortom had been arrested or detained at the EFCC Zonal Headquarters in Makurdi.

Terver Akase, the Media Aide to Samuel Ortom, made the announcement, emphasising that Ortom’s visit to the EFCC was voluntary and aligned with his willingness to address any inquiries related to his governance.

In an official statement, the Media Aide stated:

ORTOM NOT ARRESTED BY EFCC

Contrary to insinuations in some sections of the media, the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, today visited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to honour the invitation of the commission.

Chief Ortom was neither arrested nor detained at the EFCC Zonal Headquarters in Makurdi.

The former Governor has repeatedly said that he is available to respond to inquiries by anti-graft agencies as he has nothing to hide regarding his stewardship of Benue State.
