Embattled National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has stormed the APC national secretariat in Abuja for the party National Working Committee meeting.
This development is coming after a federal high court issued an order restraining the Edo politician from carrying out his duties as the party’s chairman and barring him from presiding over its affairs.
However, in a surprising twist of events, an appeal court ruled in favour of Oshiomhole, retaining him as the party’s chairman. On Tuesday, he was welcomed to the secretariat with mixed feelings.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Oshiomhole was not cheered by Secretariat staff as usual and members of the Victor Giadom faction did not welcome him.
He quickly held a meeting with his loyalists in the NWC while others in the Giadom faction sat outside patiently.
NWC members that met with Oshiomhole include Abiola Ajimobi, the newly appointed National Auditor, Paul Chukwuma, National Organising Secretary, National Vice Chairman (South-south), Hilliard Eta, National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogara, National Vice Chairman South-east, Emma Ibediro, National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, National Women Leader among others.
It will be recalled that Oshiomole’s reprieve came shortly after the national leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu wrote an open letter declaring support for the chairman amidst a strong push to oust him. The atmosphere around the secretariat is tense.
