Baring last minute change, the Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola is expected to sign the bill on the establishment of Operation Amotekun into law on Friday.
Sources close to the governor told our correspondent that all is set for the assent of the governor.
The operation Amotekun bill was passed last week by all South West region Houses of Assembly.
POLITICS NIGERIA understands that the bill got to Mr Oyetola’s office last night and would be signed today.
The media aide to the Speaker, Kunle Alabi, said the delay in passage of the bill is caused by administrative work between the legislative arm and executive arm of the state.
Operation Amotekun is otherwise known as Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN).
It is a security outfit based in all the six states of the South Western, Nigeria, responsible for curbing insecurity in the region.
It was founded on 9 January 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State as the first regional security outfit initiated by a geopolitical zone in Nigeria.
