The grand Chief Imam of Oyo town in Oyo State, Sheikh Masud AbdulGaniy Ajokidero III, is dead.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Sheikh Ganiy’s son, Ustadh Adam Mas’ud, confirmed his father’s death on Thursday.
Sheikh AbdulGaniy died on Wednesday.
Assalatu Sunatullah Nigeria, a Muslim prayer group, commiserated with the Masud family over the religious leader’s exit.
“Great loss to Islam. The Chief Missioner of Asim, Fadhilat Sheikh Abdul Raheem Olabode sympathies with Muslims on the passing of Chief Imam of Oyo Shaykh Mas’ūd Abdulganiy who returned to his Lord on the 25th of January 2023.
“May Allah be pleased with him. May the almighty grant us the fortitude to bear the loss,” the group said in a statement.
