The chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Walid Jibrin, has resigned from his position.
He disclosed this at the National Executive Council meeting currently going on in Abuja.
It can be recalled that the Party has been embroiled in a serious crisis over the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Party.
The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has been at loggerheads with Atiku over what he described as ‘unfairness to the South and breach of the party’s zoning arrangement” as the national chairman, Presidential candidate and the Chairman of the party’s governors forum all come from the North.
