The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo has declared his willingness to concede defeat, provided the electoral process is free and fair.
Ighodalo made the statement after casting his ballot at his polling unit in Idinro, Okaegben, Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, alongside his wife at 12:15 pm on Saturday.
The Edo State election, an off-cycle election in the country, features three key contenders vying for the governorship seat: Ighodalo of the PDP, Senator Monday Okpebholo of the APC, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP). A total of 17 candidates are officially in the running for the position.
