The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and former National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu.

The convention, which has delegates from 17 states in attendance, saw PDP chieftain Chief Bode George move the motion for the expulsion of 11 key members, citing behaviours he said were “inconsistent with the party’s collective interest.”

Hon. Samaila Buga, Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi State, seconded the motion.

Delegates at the convention unanimously voted in favour of their expulsion, accusing them of engaging in acts of disunity and initiating multiple litigations against the party’s interest.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, then presented the motion for adoption and ratification, and delegates unanimously approved the expulsion.

Also present at the convention are Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Governor Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), and the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum.

Other notable attendees include the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro; former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Gombe State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo; Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara; and several other party chieftains.

Politics Nigeria recall that the Wike-aligned faction had attempted to stop the convention through the courts.

However, the party obtained a favourable judgment from an Oyo State High Court, allowing the convention to proceed.

  1. Honestly, this decision should have been taken since though the damage done to the party by those suspended can be still corrected before next general election’s.Kudos!!!!

  2. Great decision long overdue and end to bad radiance. Let them stand their ground, at least it will serve as a deterrent to others and that no one is above the party and discipline. Kudos if this true

  3. Yes, the expulsion might be good but it will definitely bury PDP finally which is a good sign to APC that their evil days are also waiting for them if they continue to suffer poor Nigerians. Karma will definitely take them all up party wise and individually.

  4. I don’t know the reason why PDP allowed the virus to spread and eaten deep before applying remedy. They should’ve been expelled and forgotten long time ago. Those who are proud to have worked for APC and still working for APC were allowed to answer PDP members till today.

  5. This what you’re supposed to do since 2024 but is just now well let’s see how it will go god punish him and his team members wike

  7. The decision should have been taken long time before now but the party is dead already. APC /PDP Olori buruku people, enemies of masses

  8. None is a permanent member of any particular part, they are all political prostitute, wait till 2026/27. You’ll see massive defection from one party to the other. Same people, same personality. Old cargos

  9. Commendable move.
Guess Lt. Yerima has given PDP some balls.
Wike, who could not stumble on mountains has finally stumbled on stone.

  10. The party’s constitution is superior to any members. All must respect it, but where any member disobey the party’s law and allow to go Scott free is detrimental to the party’s progress and integrity. Therefore, the suspension of these key play actors in PDP, will soon see to the stability of the party. I will advise the rest to stay within the ambit of the law and respect the party’s constitution for the general progress and stability of the party. I am sure if the status quo is maintained, PDP will soon retain her integrity. PDP! POWER!
