The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) marked its 25th year as a political platform in Nigeria on Thursday, August 31.
PDP via Twitter on Thursday used the opportunity to hail its founding members who fought for Nigeria’s democracy and wrestled power from the hands of the military in 1999.
The opposition political platform prayed that the efforts of such pillars would continue to inspire younger generations.
Its celebratory statement read:
“Hurray! Our party, the @OfficialPDPNig is 25 today.
“Let’s roll out the drums and celebrate the sacrifices of the founding leaders of our party, who fought and wrestled power from the military and returned the country to the path of democracy in 1999.
“May the efforts of our heroes continue to inspire the younger generations. Happy Anniversary!”
Recently, Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the red chamber, opined that the PDP had left its position as an opposition to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Labour Party (LP).
Sani stated that the LP has been the party that has put up attacks on the APC.
